Carbide spray drying granulation uses wet grinding to mix and shape the mixture. Then unload the slurry, use a press to pump the slurry into the spray tower, and use a certain temperature and pressure to spray it out of the spray gun to form tiny particles.
The cavity is protected with inert gas and has a certain temperature difference and pressure.
Spray granulation was not originally used for cemented carbide but for the pharmaceutical industry.
There are some advantages of spray granulation, first of all, it can ensure that the oxygen of the mixture is relatively stable, because there will be alcohol and paraffin protection in the wet mill, and there is an inert gas protection in the spray granulation tower, so it is good for increasing the oxygen content of the mixture. Oxygen color is very protective. Secondly, the spray-granulated cemented carbide particles are quite uniform. The uniformity of the particles can be seen from the flow rate and bulk ratio. The loose particles of hand-granulated particles will exceed 3.8-4.0, and the thickness will be different. The particle loose packing ratio of spray granulation is below 3.2, basically around 2.8-3.0, which makes it easier to press some small or special-shaped cemented carbide products that are difficult to form.
