3. It is very important to understand the linear expansion coefficient of tungsten steel. The linear expansion coefficient of tungsten steel is more than twice that of high-speed steel. When tungsten steel and high-speed steel are welded, due to the difference in linear expansion coefficient between tungsten steel and high-speed steel, when the welded mold is cooled, the stress on the inner and outer layers is different, and an inward tensile stress is formed on the surface. After welding, measures should be taken to relieve the stress, otherwise the tungsten steel will have cracks or desoldering.
